About

The loft and factory district west of avenue McGill, at the edge of Vieux-Montréal, is showing signs of rebirth. Artists and high-tech businesses are moving in, although the streets are still quiet. Among the pioneers is the Darling Foundry, an avant-garde exhibition space in a vast, raw, former foundry. Room is provided for Cluny, which serves breakfasts and coffee and, at lunch, antipasti and sandwiches such as tuna melts and smoked salmon panini. Although it's called an ArtBar, its main hours are during the daylight, when the sun streams through mammoth industrial windows. It's open past 5pm only on Thursdays. Tables are topped with sections of bowling alley floors, just so you know. Wi-Fi is available.
