Drumleek Farmhouse was built in the early 1900s and was purchased in 1922 by the Greer family. It was one of the first houses in the area to have electricity and was the first to own a tv and was often used as a céili house. Drumleek Farmhouse was recently renovated into a three bed self-catering house. It has a single room, a double room with en-suite and a family room. It has a large living room with TV/DVD and wood burning stove fitted beneath a beautiful bog oak mantel. It has a kitchen/diner and utility fitted with all the appliances needed for modern day living while still giving you the feeling that you’re in the heart of the country. There is adownstairs bathroom with disabled access. Travel cot and high chair are available for guest’s use. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a freshly home-made batch of scones, jam, tea, coffee and milk.There are panoramic views of the drumlin countryside from every window in the house. There is a large enclosed area outside for parking and for children to play. There is a lawn at the front and side of the house with table and chairs ideal for an evening meal or for an afternoon ice-cream.We have a games room including table tennis, air hockey and darts located in the barn adjacent to the property.Drumleek Farmhouse welcomes one well behaved pet to come and stay. There is a kennel available.Drumleek Farmhouse is situated on a 45 hectare working farm. It has a herd of Angus/Limousine beef cows, a flock of Easycare sheep, two Saddleback sows called Lily and Sally, free range hens which provide fresh eggs daily for guests and a rooster which acts as an alarm clock. There is also a working sheep dog called Judy.There are a collection of vintage tractors on the farm which date back to 1942 and include a MF1200 giant tractor and a high speed JCB Fastrac.A guided tour of the farm is provided for guests where they can see the new born calves feed the pet lambs and pigs in season and view the large collection of tractors.We provide a selection of bikes for your convenience so that you can explore the quiet country roads at your leisure.There is a ceramic painting studio and craft shop situated on the farm. It was set up in 2008 and caters for birthday parties, children and adult groups and families. It is a fun and relaxing activity that is appealing to all ages. Guests staying in Drumleek Farmhouse are welcome to paint at the studio and browse and purchase gifts in the craft shop.The farm is an angler’s haven as it has a river and lake located on it. The river meanders through the low lying meadows and it is open for anglers to fish without a license. It is teaming with wild rainbow and brown trout.The lake on the farm, known as Milltown Lake, is stocked by the local angling club and we provide guests with a license free of charge. There is a jetty located on the farm shore.
