This bookstore is arguably Taiwan's best. The selection of Chinese and English books is large but Eslite features more than just books. The store also has jewelry, stationary, and a cafe, which makes it a great place to buy gifts and relax. Eslite has a distinct artistic feel that sets it apart from Taipei's other bookstores. Book signings, poetry readings and concerts are often held here. People sit on the floor and stairs, leafing through books, around the clock. The main branch features a large, shopping center-like retail arcade and a food court.
