This monument was erected in 1958 and it represents thegaúcho in his typical outfit. Inspired in Paixão Côrtes, a traditionalist from Rio Grande do Sul, it is one of the symbols of the city. The statue was recently moved into a wider area where you can park your car, sit down and watch the airplanes take off and land at the city airport while other citizens do the same, enjoying their chimarrão.
