About

Water parks, long popular in the United States, are quickly finding the same success in Asia. Taipei's Formosa Fun Coast water park opened in 2008 and has a nice assortment of slides ranging from mild to adventurous (at one point they had the longest water slide in SE Asia). The park has all the other fundamentals, like a lazy river and large pool area where a giant bucket dumps water on crowds of screaming kids periodically. Be prepared to take a quick swim test for some of the larger water slides, and line up for the major attractions early, as they'll get crowded. With a separate admission ticket, the Green World portion of Formosa offers camping (in a grassy park area), biking and walking trails meandering through ponds and around waterfalls and flower gardens.
