Vlasta Wasserbauerova is an artist whose jewelry has not only won awards around the world, but is also featured in many museums and collections. She studied in the textile studio of the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague in the late 1970s and initially set out on a career in this area before work with metal thread turned her attention to more solid artifacts and the possibility of weaving in the creation of jewelry. The gallery displays a wide range of her current work. She works with metal thread and weaves it into spider webs of gold and silver which form the decorative structure of her jewelry. These ribbons are turned into slithers of earrings or gossamer chokers. The gallery is simply decorated and allows the beauty of the work to speak for itself.
