Due to the growing popularity of this sport in 1928 began to seriously discuss the construction of a new course with 18 holes. For this reason, the city council asked Ing. F. Gross of Inter-Country Club in Vienna for help in choosing the most suitable terrain in the vicinity of Karlovy Vary. Of the possible options was selected location in the village Olšová Gates.
