Not by any means Taipei's biggest bookstore but, nonetheless, Hess has more than enough to satisfy bookworms. The English-language book choice is confined to novels and some Taiwan-related volumes, but the selection of magazines and foreign newspapers is impressive. In addition to the better-known news/current affairs publications, there are several fashion, travel and music titles. As might be expected in a bookstore belonging to a chain of private language/computer schools, there is an abundance of educational and computer-related material. Stationery, greeting cards and gifts are also available.
