The Game Drives This is a place where you can get close to wildlife by taking a game drive or even guided nature walks. There is plenty of game as you drive around; impalas can be seen grazing in the bush and the open plains in their hundreds. You are also assured of seeing hundreds of zebras also grazing, trotting or just lying around. The naturalists here will only be too glad to give you all the information you need to know about them. Another animal found here is the eland. This cow like animal is the world's largest antelope and is the animal most depicted in the early rock art of East Africa. Up to date elands still hold an important place in the mythology of many African tribes. The Rothschild giraffe once endangered but not yet out of this list also has its home here. Protected by an electric fence and favorable environment, these giraffes thrive here and from the look of things, the number is slowly increasing. Did you know that a giraffe is very protective of its young Looking at this tall mammals walking majestically and feeding is an enriching and delightful encounter. From the comfort of your car you get to see these animals up close as they don't shy away from vehicles. But as common sense dictates, you are not allowed to get out of your vehicle even though the animals may look gentle and harmless. Hundreds of warthogs mingle and move around the conservancy and when found gathered in their numbers at one place make a lovely sight. Eco-Tourism Kigio Wildlife Conservancy is at the forefront of ecotourism in the Rift Valley lakes area. It is such a rich conservancy that follows the need to create a base from where people from all walks of life could make a stop over, refresh themselves, get accommodation and of course enjoy nature.
