Lujiazui Ludi (Lujiazui Central Green)

Pudong (east of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower; north of the Jin Mao Tower)

About

Located just north of the Jin Mao Tower, this sprawling 10-hectare (25-acre) park with an expansive lawn has a large lake in the shape of Pudong; radiating from it are paths that outline a magnolia, the city flower of Shanghai. Clusters of willows, maples, and gingko trees provide plenty of shade. It's the kind of place that inspires impromptu picnics, kite flying, a lazy afternoon nap, and even hot-air ballooning in the warmer months. The park is so high-tech it even has a series of in-ground audio speakers that will occasionally pipe out New Age mood music.
