About

This laid-back, relaxing restaurant is situated on a hill, 4 blocks from main street San Martín. In a modern house with large windows, it overlooks the bay, with the town's clapboard church in the foreground. The dining area is large and spacious, and the decor is modern if a little bare. The clientele are a healthy mix of locals and visitors. There's a kids' menu, so families come for the early sitting (before 9pm). All come for a seafood menu, which includes the ubiquitous king crab, homemade pasta, and enormous desserts of cream and fresh fruit. There's a new wine list and sommelier. Maria Lola may not leave you speechless gastronomically, but it makes for very pleasant evening dining. Its charm lies in its understatement.
