Mirador Jach'a Kollo

Due to its topography, La Paz is a city that has marvelous sight-seeing places. In recent years, many of them have been restorted or built, improving also the access to them. The Mirador Jach'a Kollo - located at the Cotahuma district - is one of them which can be reached in a relatively easy way and short time from downtown (approx. 15 min) . Although there are public buses and minivans approaching this place, it is preferable to take a taxi (whihc may cost between 10 to 15 Bs) as the price difference might not be as high, as the cost to find the proper bus. Once there, there is an spectacular panoramic view of the city (approx. 250°), which includes part of the Royal Andean Range (mounts Huayna Potosi, Mururtata and Illimani quite visible), and most of La Paz neighboors, including part of the city's southern area. The near surroundings are also interesting to see as it is located in one of the so called "laderas" (hillsides) of the city. There area laso some shopping rooms next to it, although they may be closed, as the vendors use it mainly as a deposit due to the current low quantity of visitors.
