Monte Arci

Via Castelfirdardo 33 Cuisines: Italian

About

On a cobblestone street near Piazza Indipendenza, this restaurant is set behind a sienna facade. It features cheap Roman and Sardinian specialties (you'll spend even less for pizza) such as nialoreddus (a regional form of gnocchetti); pasta with clams, lobster, or the musky-earthy notes of porcini mushrooms; green and white spaghetti with bacon, spinach, cream, and cheese; and delicious lamb sausage flavored with herbs and pecorino cheese. It's all home cooking: hearty but not particularly creative.
