Museum of Jade Art

About

Both mainland China and Taiwan are known for their jade art, and the Museum of Jade Art in Taipei is the first museum in the world dedicated solely to this ancient art. Each piece in the museum is housed in it's own free-standing display, so you can really get in close to admire the work from all sides. Rotating exhibits, such as the current Flowers and Human Matters exhibit, mean that you'll always have something new to see. Even the museum itself is beautifully laid out with white marble and hardwood floor interiors and muted lighting. Because it's not as popular a destination as the National Palace Museum, it makes for a quite afternoon escape.
