Myoga is the flagship restaurant of the Vineyard Hotel in leafy Newlands and boasts quite a few accolades. Chef Mike Bassett's ambitious menu also includes a seven-course tasting menu that offers excellent value for money. There are several options for each course, so you're spoilt for choice. Standouts include the confit duck with guanciale, and the smoked salmon with chimichurri is very well executed. A playful take on a Scotch egg, with Grabouw lamb boerewors, curry spices and hanepoot jam, is easily the most exciting dish on the menu, while an egg custard with prawns and micro vegetables is charmingly presented.
