Osteria dell'Antiquario

Via dei Coronari Cuisines: Italian

About

This virtually undiscovered osteria enjoys a good location a few blocks down the Via dei Coronari as you leave the Piazza Navona and head toward St. Peter's. In a stone-built stable from the 1500s, Osteria dell'Antiquario has three dining rooms used in winter. In nice weather, try to get an outdoor table on the terrace; shaded by umbrellas, they face a view of the Palazzo Lancillotti. We like to begin with the sautéed shellfish (usually mussels and clams), or you could opt for the risotto with porcini mushrooms. For a main course, try grilled lamb chops with a mint sauce; or a risotto with pumpkin flowers, scampi, and saffron.
