Italian can mean two things when it comes to food: the heavy pastas covered in heavy sauces popularized in North American-style Italian restaurants and the much subtle, sophisticated food you'd actually find in a trattoria in Italy. Osteria Rialto is the later. The chef, born and raised in Verona, cooks a good-sized menu featuring favorites like black pepper mackerel with olive and lemon sauce, carrot ravioli stuffed with asparagus, and lobster spaghetti. The restaurant also serves about a dozen varieties of pizzas. The cozy restaurant is appointed in an almost Mediterranean style and is more comforting than fancy.
