Palace of the Propagation of Faith

via di Propaganda 1

About

Built by Pope Gregory XV, restored by Pope Urban VII and completed by Pope Alexander VII, the Palazzo di Propaganda Fide was originally designed by Francesco Borromini and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, two canon architect/designers of the period. This building represents one of the most interesting examples of baroque influences in Roman architecture (Borromini also built the chapel of the Biblical Magi, another baroque building). Today, the Palace of the Propagation of the Faith houses the Jesuits' Congregation and is not open to public. It is located on Via di Propaganda, in the Trevi neighborhood, overlooking Piazza di Spagna.
