Piola

Isidora Goyenechea 2926 Cuisines: Italian

About

One of few pizza imports from Argentina, this pizzeria does exceptionally well in any of its several locations. Probably the best one (and most easily accessible) is the Piola on Isidora Goyonochea, not far from the El Golf or Tobalaba metros, in a long line of upscale restaurants, including its main pizza competitor on this strip, Tiramisú. The crust is crisp, and thin, but not tortilla-like, and the sauce is flavorful and cheese plentiful. Pizza varieties range from the very traditional sauce and cheese to varieties with basil, fresh tomatoes, and arugula on top. The crowd is varied, with mainly after-work groups of friends, and on the weekends, more families. It feels like a traditional pizza restaurant, with brick ovens fired up and a generally warm atmosphere.
