Avenida da República

About

The institution of bullfighting is a great Portuguese tradition. Built in the 19th century, this building is inspired by the old arena in Madrid. Constructed in a Roman style, it is probably the most expressive neo-arab building to be built in the late 19th century. The Praça de Touros do Campo Pequeno hosts the year's most important bullfights; most of them take place between the months of March and October.
