About

Legend has it that this area was the first site settled by man in Ireland. With its remarkable collection of ancient megalithic tombs and burial chambers, some dating to 3500 BC, it is a fascinating and visually stunning place to visit. It is also the home of some of the most spectacular scenery and diverse riding terrain in the country, and it is for this reason that The Sligo Riding Centre at Carrowmore, County Sligo is such a popular choice for visitors and locals alike. The outstanding facilities include an indoor ring and outdoor ménage, a wonderful cross country course, an equestrian equipment shop and a clubhouse overlooking the indoor ring. There is stabling for up to 50 horses and the mounts are either Irish hunters or Connemara ponies, both known for their reliability and great dispositions. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with a great deal of experience and your host and the owner of the facility, Declan McGarry, takes great pride in ensuring all guests are given personal attention. At the centre, courses arde offered for all levels of riding ability and all equestrian interests i.e. basic instruction, showjumping instruction, trekking and trail riding.
