Stiftskeller

Burggraben 31 Cuisines: European

About

The baroque detailing on this 18th-century yellow-and-white palace-turned-restaurant across from the Hofburg can be admired from the street-side beer garden (at night, lights illuminate the garden). In cold weather, you can dine inside, where there are several dining rooms. Meals are posted on a blackboard, and typical menu items include spaghetti carbonara and venison schnitzel in a pheasant-flavored cream sauce, followed by fresh homemade apple strudel. This place can get rowdy at night. During the warm summer months, folk music and oldies are played in the beer garden, starting at 7:30pm.
