About

In 1908, Indonesia's first medical school building witnessed the most important phase of the nation's struggle for independence from the Dutch. Young medical students and intellectuals gathered here for awakening meetings and for the establishment of the first political organization, Budi Utomo. Now the building has been converted into a museum that celebrates this national awakening. Exhibits include a collection of antique medical instruments and the artwork of those who helped shape the future of Indonesian women.
