The Anna Emily offers you the opportunity to enjoy sailing on a traditional boat in Cork Harbour, the 2nd largest natural Harbour in the world. The Port and Islands of the harbour are steeped in history all related to conquest and emigration. Naval power and supporting services provided wealth and work to the people of Cobh which continues today with the headquarters of the Irish Naval Service located on Haulbowline.Lovingly restored, the Anna Emily is a CT41 sailing ketch built in the Far East in 1976 along the lines of the famous American clipper design. Her sleek looks and Burmese teak taff rails, gunwhales and trim give her a traditional look. Her authentic rig and distinctive bowsprit, combined with her powerful auxiliary engine and modern safety equipment make Anna Emily a fabulous vessel on which to sail. She is ketch rigged with three/ four sails depending on conditions. Her styling and natural feel bring you to a time and a place where simple pleasures are easily enjoyed. All your needs will be met and you will be guided through the age old art of sailing............. Day sails are provided, and the duration depends on your requirements. The Anna Emily sails from the pontoon at the Quays Bar and Restraunt. Remember while on the water you are advised to wear sunscreen at all times. Anna Emily is an ideal base for artists and photographers. Training in art, photography, knot tying and seamanship can be provided. Special trips are also available for bird watching and visiting areas of natural beauty. There are opportunities now available to sail aboard Anna Emily this summer. Safety equipment is carried as specified by the DTTAS. She is certified for eight passengers and two crew, a skipper and mate. All guests are encouraged to participate in sailing, to explore the thrill of steering a boat under wind and discover a pleasure that will last as long as your memories.
