This mahogany-paneled bar has leather banquettes evocative of an early-1900s California saloon. Choices include an array of salads and platters. At lunch order from a quick menu, including an appetizer, a garnished main course, and two glasses of wine. Typical dishes are magret of duckling and top-notch beefsteaks and fresh fish. Restaurateur extraordinaire Michel Hermet makes his own wine at vineyards associated with his family for many generations. More than 300 other varieties of wine are in stock, 15 of which are available by the glass or by the pitcher.
