The service at this family-owned restaurant, located in a 17th-century house with thick walls and antique paneling, is equaled only at the Kurfürstenstube , and the sophisticated maitre d' adds both glamour and an appropriate theatricality. The classical cuisine is based on fresh ingredients. Try the rack of lamb with herbs and homemade green noodles, or the roast roebuck with a vinegar-and-honey sauce. The desserts, such as the sorbet flavored with blood oranges served with a parfait of mandarin oranges, make better use of fresh fruit than any other place in town.
