Bar Etxaniz

About

This tiny hole in the wall doesn't, at first, seem to have anything to offer that distinguishes it from the hundreds of other pintxo bars in the city, but just wait until you're coming out of one of the dance clubs late at night, and Etxaniz will become your new home: this tiny bar is open later than most of the other bars and serves food much later than anywhere else. The offerings are rather basic, and the later you go, fewer options will be available, but the tortilla is as good as any other, and the friendly smiles behind the bar more than make up for having to elbow your way into the four square feet of standing space. No worries-everyone takes their drinks and pintxos outside to the street anyway. -Emily Monaco
