Beethoven Restaurant y Salón de Té

Balmaceda 432 Cuisines: American

About

This is one of the best restaurants downtown, as much for its broad menu as for its lovely location on the palm-shaded Patio Colonial courtyard. Nudging up against a handful of upscale arts-and-crafts shops with a decidedly European air, this artsy enclave provides a welcome respite from busy Avenida Balmaceda. The attentive staff serve a variety of international dishes leaning toward Italian (pasta and risotto) and crepes, but the restaurant also has some tasty, locally inspired dishes like the lomo elquino -- not elk but grilled beef with Chilean papaya sauce and mushrooms.
