The closest beachfront restaurant to downtown has a few outdoor tables and friendly service along with a varied, imaginative menu interspersed with Asian influences. It's expensive except for the salads, but the dishes are well portioned. Try the albacore -- a white-fleshed tuna -- with papaya jam spiced with aniseed and accompanied by mushrooms in port wine. The sauces accompanying the meat dishes tend to be a little on the heavy side, and the music blares way too early before its bar and lounge turn it into a trendy evening hangout.
