For more than 50 years, Finks was an institution in Jerusalem--a tiny bar and restaurant in the center of the city that served as the nerve center for politicians, journalists, diplomats and the people who hovered in their orbit. Finks closed in 2005 and left a gap in Jerusalem's night life. In mid-2011, one of those who managed the old Finks, Guy Ben-Simon, decided to reinvent the place--with the same discreet ambience, amazing bar selection and outstanding food of the original Finks. The new Finks is across the street from the popular Mamilla Mall, not far from the walls of the Old City. This is the place to come for a romantic dinner; late night drinks or to clinch an important business deal. There are only five tables in the upstairs restaurant, and the bar downstairs is intimate too. Every manner of beer, cocktail, hard liquor and soft drinks is on offer here and the personal service is part of the Fink magic. The new Fink is kosher, and the fusion-style menu is small and changes according to the season and the whim of the chef. Plan on spending the entire evening here--Fink is a place you'll be talking about long after you return home.
