Loutros

Opposite the Bezesten Cuisines: European, Greek

About

For years, Loutros occupied part of an old Turkish bath; now it's in new quarters and still serves fried minnows (which you eat whole) and delicious mussels, as well as tasty horta (greens) and florines (spicy red peppers). The music here is usually very Levantine-sounding -- which, in Greece, is a polite way of saying that it sounds absolutely Turkish.
