- There are several modes of transportation where you can reach this hill station. There is airport in this hill station so you will have to take a flight to the Coimbatore airport and from there you can travel by bus or taxi cab to Ooty. The road trip will take about three and half an hour.
- You can also take the Nightly train which leaves from Chennai to Mettupalayam called the Nilgiris Express. From there you can take another steam engine train train called the Nilgiri Mountain Railway to the hill station. The train journey will be an amazing experience but the only drawback is that only 30 tickets are issued at once. Or you can take a bus or taxi which is more faster.
- If you are travelling from nearby cities or states, you can hires cabs, tempos or you can travel in one of the government run buses.
