Paseo Ahumada

Centro

About

It is an attractive pedestrian walkway found in the heart of downtown Santiago. The cafes are located on the second street entering on Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, inviting the walker in to enjoy a replenishing cup of coffee. This walkway is surrounded by four blocks that empty out into the Plaza de Armas. Notice the Crillón building constructed in the last century and found on the northern corner intersecting with Agustinas. Also notice the Banco de Chile building from 1921-1925. The distinctive shopping passages inside the buildings will get your attention, as they allow you to shop while protected from the rain or the heat of Santiago. The atmosphere of this walkway radically changes from early in the evening and on weekends, when office workers give way to street performers and their audience.
