You won't be on Rarotonga long before you hear about New Zealander "Trader Jack" Cooper's harborside joint. Floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides open to the water and give nearly everyone in the dining area a view of the harbor, the reef, and the sea and sunsets beyond. Outside, a bar dispenses libation and the island's best pizzas. A printed menu plays second fiddle to the chalkboard specials, which feature the freshest fish served on the island (Jack owns a substantial slice of Rarotonga's fish processing plant and gets the pick of the day's catch). A big seller is a seafood catch for two, including fish, shrimp, scallops, oysters, marinated mussels, and smoked marlin and salmon with dipping sauce.
