About

If you are brave enough to venture to Au Cinquième Pêché, be forewarned you might leave vowing to never over-indulge again. Part and parcel with a restaurant named the 5th  Mortal Sin-- gluttony --and Au Cinquième Pêché is a joyous ode to gluttony filled with gourmet adventures, risks, and delights.  The bistro is designed in a very straightforward French turn-of-the-century style to match the contemporary "cuisine Française"  with black and white tiles and framed black and white photos of Paris in its early-20th century. While the menu is heavily influenced by contemporary French cuisine from France, there's a true Nouvelle-France (i.e. Quebec) flair that permeates the selections—and according to many Montrealers, they are masterpieces. Expect to see a menu full of Hare Confit (sorry, Bugs), sweetbreads, and even octopus ravioli. Locals rave about their soups, especially with winter arriving, it's great to have something to warm the soul while committing the sin of gluttony.  You can get wine by the glass or bottle at Au Cinquième Pêché, just to make sure you don't indulge to much. The ambiance is warm and hopping, and the expert staff pleasantly takes care of your every whim.  This is after all going to cost your soul, so you might as well enjoy every last ounce of it!
